For years I've studied mediums, people who claim to be able to speak to the dead.
Books have been read, shows watched and experts spoken with.
On saturdays wedding I was asked by the mother of the bride if as well as doing magic I could do something venturing into this area. (She had heard a rumour I could do it).
I explained that everything I did was just an act, but she asked for me to go ahead anyway.
What proceeded was no more than a ten minute routine, using tricks and techniques by many mediums and psychics. The farer effect otherwise called Barnum notes and other examples that anyone really could Google.
By the end she was convinced I really was psychic and communicating with the dead. Despite my protestations I may add.
I think everyone should believe in what makes them happy (to an extent) but I don't believe charging people for delivering a message they may really need.
Im glad people enjoy this part of my act, but it is just that, an act. And I make sure I express this to them before during and after.
